Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. She founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001 and shortly thereafter exited the company. One of the original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank until now. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February of 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran, who was the second of 10 children from a Catholic family with a low-income was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. Her father was always changing jobs during Corcoran’s life. The family depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocer. Corcoran says that her father was a drunken man who treated her mother with disrespectful and condescension. Corcoran struggled at school and later learned that she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at an Catholic elementary school. After failing several courses in her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School in Leonia, where she was a D-student when she graduated.
